We had a night at this lovely country hotel, the room was nice and clean, we paid the small suppliment and went for the superior room, which was well worth the money. The bar and restaurant were also nicely decorated and furnished and the food and beverages were to a good standard and at reasonable hotel prices. The staff were very friendly from the lady on reception to all the staff behind the bar and in the restaurant for both the evening meal and the following day breakfast. All in all a great stay for the money.
Lovely place - nice and clean and bright good service -all staff helpful and polite Good of a very high standard - hot and well presented
We got the upgrade to a bigger room...well worth it, it was comfortable and big with a very clean bathroom! Evening meal very nice and all you can eat breakfast! Was a very enjoyable stay
Lovely hotel, nice room with very comfortable bed, good breakfast with lots of choices.
Was a lovely place , how ever we wanted the steak for dinner but was not any, the bed was not very comfortable, but the stay was pleasant
Good overall value for money, even though we found the room surprisingly cramped.
Beautiful setting. Clean large room
Very comfortable hotel set in lovely grounds with a historic church. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Was very happy with our stay lovely hotel all staff very friendly food was good.
Excellent stay at the Stanton House Hotel for a lovely birthday weekend. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is set in beautiful surroundings and all the facilities were perfect. The room was lovely, had been given an upgrade on check in which we really appreciated. Food and drink also wonderful. Definitely coming back with a few friends next time!
Had a lovely stay .room was very nice after looking at some reviews.dont know what people expect .had evening meals which we both enjoyed would certainly love to go back again
A nice hotel in a fantastic country setting. A very pleasant stay.
This was our second stay. Although we paid for a deluxe room it was disappointing don’t like having to lay on bed to watch tv. Although there was a chair the tv was on the wall in front of the bed and you could not view it from chair. But other. Than that we enjoyed our stay
This hotel was very nice to stay at, the surroundings grounds are beautiful. The staff very polite and helpful the food was nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel 🏨
We enjoyed the 2 days. Lovely spacious room overlooking the well kept grounds. Enjoyed coffee in the conservatory and patio area. The dinner was of good standard. Breakfast was average. Staff helpful and courteous.
Excellent stay for the price you pay.
We arrived at the hotel and got booked in, Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There was no delay and we went straight to our room to drop off our bags. Room was small but adequate with tea and coffee making facilities. The restaurant was more like a cafe than restaurant but the meal was ok. Breakfast was very good first day but the day we left the bacon was very hard well cooked inedible. Would go there again as we had an enjoyable time.
We were a bit disappointed at the size of the room. It was the smallest room in the hotel. As we had booked with voucher, we did not have the same size room as normal customers. The staff were brilliant
Very nice hotel
Hotel great as it’s situated in huge grounds Petfect for a long walk! All staff are very helpful and friendly! Rooms a good size and well equipped!
Great hotel in beautiful setting, spacious garden outdoor area. Staff all very pleasant and attentive. Dinner excelllent on both nights, good choice menu. Breakfast buffet plentiful. Comfortable clean room if a little small and a little tired. Might consider an upgrade if we stayed again Overall a good two night break at a good price. Well done
Nice hotel in a wonderful setting. Staff friendly and helpful.
Lovely relaxing stay. Nice meal & fantastic breakfast. Set in lovely grounds & handy for Swindon.
This was a Manor House home turned into a hotel, set in a beautiful location with fabulous views and grounds. You can see the architecture and quality of the decor and layout with oak staircases and many quirky rooms to facilitate all sizes of parties. Upon arrival, everything was ready for us, we had a nice friendly smile and welcome by Yasmin who was really helpful and attentive at check in, she took time explaining the facilities and the details of our booking, all the staff we met were friendly. The room was an executive double which was a large room complete with coffee table, chesterfield sofa, ample wardrobe space and en-suite, nicely prepared and very clean and comfortable. The room was refreshed and tended each day. Breakfast included was a continental breakfast but for only £5 each per day you had a choice including hot full English etc. It has a couple of bars, one in a large orangery/conservatory and one on the dining area. The choice of evening dining was a decent menu at sensible prices. Free Parking. The hotel is restablishing itself after being taken over a few years ago now, it's undergoing the treatment the property deserves to bring its stately pride back up to scratch, it's a pretty place with an interesting history and with the right TLC it will get back to its former glory. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would go again, great value for money.
Hotel Staff are excellent, hotel is in need of some improvements, decor is dated but clean, breakfast is understaffed but we are not in a hurry! food is excellent too, and for the price overall would book again, indeed we did!
We have been before,it was as good as it was last time we stayed. We loved it & shall return.
We had a really lovely weekend, beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was great and staff were really helpful! Will absolutely come again!
Place is beautiful and the stay was lovely. Only thing i would say is we upgraded to a superior room and decor was outdated and not in great shape, also the room was very dark as natural light was obscured by being enclosed
Beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds and in a tranquil location. Food was great and so was service.
We had a really enjoyable stay Lovely large room Very helpful friendly staff Delicious dinner We would definitely visit again
Lovely hotel. staff very helpfull and food excellent . The only downside was the size of the room, it felt like we had been hoehorned in with very little room between the bed and the wall.
Lovely place ,welcoming staff, nice room although no outward looking view although we kind of expected that as it was a Wowcher deal . Only three staff on in the evening and an at breakfast which caused some delays as they were also dealing with drinks etc also. Food expensive for what it was steak meal rib eye 1/2 mushroom 1/2 tomato and some chips had to pay extra for sauce mine was supposed to be blue cheese although you would not No it ,anything extra was )2:50 Or £3:50 sorry after I ate it it was perfectly fine but not special so I think the prices were not worth that
Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. The room was very small almost asked to change but as we were only there for two days just put up with it. Bathroom was lovely and almost as big as the bedroom.
Very good friendly staff lovely food will definitely go again
Incredible food at the restaurant and staff were lovely. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The room was quite small but only stayed overnight so wasn't too bothered. Beautiful grounds, lovely to go for a walk around. Saw a deer nosing around in the field which was exciting. Not too far distance to drive into the Cotswolds.
Had a great weekend, such a lovely hotel highly recommend it .
Disappointed by hotel. Room very dated and not as I expected despite paying £15 to upgrade. At breakfast they couldn't find us so we had to wait for ages while they tried to find out booking despite us eating in the restaurant the night before. The food was good and very big portions no complaints about that! Just not what I woukd expect foe a 4 star unfortunately .
Room was very small and we had to pay another £20 for a full english breakfast as the offer only included continental breakfast which was not stated on the voucher . Very Disappointed
We upgraded to an executive room on arrival but it was so bad we complained on checking out and the upgrade charge was refunded. The room was dirty, extremely dated and in our opinion shouldn't be used for guest occupation. We take leisure breaks regularly and this hotel was the worst we have stayed in with a need for serious investment. The only redeeming factor was the food, hence the reason for the 2 stars. The service was also extremely hit & miss
Appalling customer service, was told to check out at 10.00 am, no water in the room, rude front of house staff. Room was barely big enough to get round without bumping into each other, tatty bed, lumpy matress, bed definitely not a double more a small three quarter. Mouldy window frames, overgrown bushes and weeds outside the window, making it very dark. Appaling breakfast service, no staff, not enough food items to go round the humongous gathering of people, no tables. What more can I say, don't bother. Book into a Premier Inn,its, better, cheaper, cleaner and the staff are welcoming.
I was expecting what was in photo but it wasn’t, room was very small so disappointed. Dinner was ok, but nothing special, breakfast was the best part it was lovely.
Room service was not available until I requested at reception and then not until 4pm second day. There was a wedding at the hotel which we were not advised about until our arrival. Had expensive steak which was spoiled by an oily garlic sauce payed for as an extra
The food took so long to come and it took 30 minutes for us to even order a drink before even ordering our food- the food was really nice which was a relief- the room was incredibly small and really light at night/ The Reception staff were lovely however.
