Have your walking shoes handy – Athens is a buzzing with activity and is waiting to be explored! The Acropolis and Parthenon are an absolute must – rich in history, the centuries old monument stands tall overlooking the city. Even for those who are not historically-inclined, the Acropolis climb is worth it for those breathtaking panoramic views! There are dozens of tours available for those wanting to dig deeper into Athens’ rich history.
If the climb seems a little daunting, no worries! Athens is packed with monuments and attractions on the ground. Explore the Panathenaic Stadium, the birthplace of the Olympics or catch a live performance at the ancient theatre of Herod Atticus Odeon for unique acoustics and city views.
A little further out of the city and one of our favourite spots is Lake Vouliagemi. A tranquil, thermal mineral water lake is the perfect spot of swimming. A hidden gem, its overlooked by mountains and sprawling Greek landscapes, bathe in its waters or relax on the deck where food and beverages are served!
Istanbul
This exciting city was voted Tripadvisor traveller’s choice best of the best award and we can see why! Explore the awe-inspiring religious sites including the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Blue Mosque and Suleymaniye Mosque for a quiet minute of reflection and architecture appreciation.
For Bond fans, check out Basilica Cistern an underground reservoir lying underneath the streets of Sultanahmet. Often deemed the Sunken Palace, the cistern appeared in the Bond “From Russia with Love” and is made up of 336 marble and granite columns – it really is a site to behold!
After all that exploring, you’re bound to be hungry. Make your way to one of the many buzzing and bustling markets! Shop handmade and locally made trinkets to take home before grabbing a bite or two. Try a Simit – a molasses-dipped and sesame crusted dough or maybe Balik-Ekmek, an iconic fish sandwich, is more your style? Dare yourself to try Kokerc, spiced and skewered sheep’s intestines or maybe play it safe with a Kumpir, Istanbul’s rendition of a jacket potato!

Clean, central and great value! We have just returned from a great 3 night break. We stayed in a standard room which had everything you would need for a short city break. The room was clean, it included a kettle and tea/coffee and bathroom toiletries. The breakfast catered for all dietary requirements (including some Greek specialties), and the rooftop views of the city were an added bonus.

Great City Break. This hotel is the perfect city break budget option. We just got back from a 3 night stay and found all the staff to be very friendly, the rooms were clean and the breakfast had lots of options. The location is perfect for exploring! Everything is within a 20 minute walk & at the end of the day there's a small rooftop bar where you can take in the views. Thanks for a great stay!

BOOK IT WITHOUT HESITATION!! A very lovely, friendly hotel! Would 100% recommend ! No issues what so ever!! You should book WITHOUT hesitation 10/10! Everything nearby and superb location! I would come back in a heartbeat. Reception staff very obliging and courteous.

Nice hotel with nice staff The hotel was in a great location. We stayed in the attic room, not to be advised if you're very tall, but was fine for us. The bed was comfy the room was clean but the blinds let lots of light in.
